Craps History

There are people shooting dice for thousands of years. A game in which six sided cubes have taken various forms. The game of craps and it's unique set of rules and practices in development for quite some time.

Although craps can prove to be a very complicated game, a simplified version of this classic pastime can be seen everywhere. All that is really needed to play craps, two dice, a few headlines and some cash. During the Second World War, American soldiers would play craps in their downtime. From Battlefront to school yards street corners, craps has proved a malleable form of recreation that can be enjoyed in almost every arena.

But where does this game of Craps come from?

The origin of the game are a bit fuzzy. If your research into the history of human recreational practices (such as music or games), most of the information you will be prefaced with statements like "nobody really knows how (fill in the blank) started." Humanity recreational activities have no clear beginning and end. Recreation simply type mix over the centuries.

It is generally accepted that our current form of Craps is developed from a game called hazard, that is a popular gambling that the British enjoyed for centuries.

As Europeans began to appear in other places of the world, they brought their quiet games with them. Some people believe that the British were responsible for the game to the States. Others say that the French were responsible for the transfer. France had long play threat, but it augmented the name of the game craps. The French craps made popular in New Orleans.

Our modern craps table was invented by a man named John H. Winn. This new table, punters had more work options. There was a new area added for not pass bets, so Bettor could now bet with or against the shooter. With the founding of Las Vegas in the 1930s, Craps really off.

The craps table is now one of the most exciting locations in a casino. Craps may seem overly complicated at first, but once you start familiarizing yourself with the basics, you have a difficult time finding a more enjoyable game.
